Wait, what about sex offender registration obligations?

Here is a link to the notice that went up on the Oregon State Police website with advice for people who have imminent reporting obligations.

TLDR:

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, as of March 23rd, 2020, ALL sex offender reporting for registration will be taken by phone. There will be NO in-person registrations until further notice to ensure the health and safety of registrants and public safety officials.

ALSO:

The state police will post phone registrations on the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS), so that their compliance under this new system will be visible to any officer who might question them.  And the state police plan to mail written confirmation to registrants of their on-line registration so that they will have a hard copy of their compliance under this system while Covid-19 is a threat.
